Hey everyone, Gareth here from Exposed Wolf. Welcome to another exciting blog post. Today I want to talk about the power of using video to write blogs.
Approximate read time three minutes.
Don’t have time to read? Check out the summarised video here.
Now you might be wondering why would a video production company be talking about blogs? Well, the good thing about the power of video is that it’s the easiest way to write blogs. How? Because we talk a lot faster than we write. The average person speaks around 140-160 words per minute as opposed to only writing 40wpm!
So what I do, is I pump out all my videos in one go and then I get those videos transcribed into text format. And that gives me all the content that I need for my blogs, and then I can just flesh it out. A little bit of editing might be needed, but it’s all so much quicker than actually sitting down and having to think and write it all out.

So, here’s the important bit, statistics show that you need 75 blogs on your website! Once you reach that level, you’ll see expediential growth with the number of website visitors and engagement that you’ll get. However, it isn’t easy to sit down and write out 75 blogs so what better way to reach 75 blogs than to just pump out 75 videos, get it all transcribed and away you go.
The transcript will give you a skeleton to work from. I recommend a website called Rev.com. Additionally, it costs $1 a minute but it is very accurate. Make sure you go for the “Captions” option as this will give you more choice in the download section. Therefore, you can also download a .srt file and then add that into your video editing software to give you captions on your video. This is very important and I have another blog about that here.
And that’s all I wanted to say today. I hope you got something out of this?
Thanks for reading!
